Designs by Mom

Naomi is modeling her dress that is hot of the sewing machine. I Just wanted to let you all know that it is no longer cheaper to make your own clothes at home. I was at Target and saw the same style dress for $5. It cost $10 to make mine! Crazy huh?

Children Everywhere

'
We took care of our dear friends Josh and Emily Hill's children this weekend for their 10th wedding anniversary. Josh and Em were able to hang out at home and have some much deserved alone time. The kids were awesome and we all had so much fun. I am starting to think that the more kids you have the easier it is...ok, I will get back to you on that in a few years.

Adoption Update

We have recieved many notes from you all wondering what is going on with our adoption and we are so thankful for your thoughts and prayers. So, here is an update on where we are in our process. We applied on Thanksgiving day to the China Child of Promise program through Holt International. This program finds adoptive families for children who have minor and/or correctable health conditions. At the time we were told that the time from application to the placement (bringing the child home) will be about 12-18 months. We are hoping that this information holds true! Our child will be around 12 months old when we finally get to pick him or her up. We have submitted all of the paperwork for the agency and for our homestudy and have just completed our homestudy visits last night. We are now just waiting for a copy of the homestudy to be sent to us so that we can proceed with our immigration paperwork and get it in the mail. After that we will send our dossier (lots of paperwork to China) for be approved by China officials and wait for a child match. We still have a long way to go but we are staying focused on the end goal and enjoying this amazing adventure that God has us on. Please continue to pray for us and for our child who has probably already been born! We are so blessed to have your support.

The Adoption Conception By Susan Erling

I conceived my Child today Not in my body, but in my mind, And on paper.
He will not be coming to me Like my others did Yet his conception is every bit As breathtaking as theirs.
For in this immense world Where thousands are born daily The Lord is hand-picking him Just for me.
My monthly check-ups will be Phone calls to the Agency My prescriptions, large, steady Doses of Patience.
My waistline will not be expanding But the world will be growing somewhat smaller When opposite ends of the globe meet On his "birth" day in an airport.

We Love You Tessie!

Here is our style/fashion expert not looking very fashionable for the first time since she has been here. We just had to snap this pic. Isn't she lovely even when she isn't fashionable? We sure think so. We love you tessie!
